Manchester Metropolis legend, Yaya Toure has claimed that Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi has taken soccer to a different stage.

He acknowledged this forward of Barcelona’s Champions League quarter-final first leg conflict with Manchester United at Previous Trafford on Wednesday evening.

Toure, a former teammate with Messi throughout his time at Barcelona, believes the Argentina worldwide is totally different, particular and an odd character in soccer.

“Messi is such an odd character. He’s totally different and particular,” the Ivory Coast legend advised BBC Sport.

“You by no means hear him speaking quite a bit and he’s all the time concentrating and specializing in his soccer. He is an ideal teammate and gratifying to play with.

“You give him a go with two or three gamers round him and it’s so troublesome to get the ball from him.

“For me, the man has taken soccer to a different stage. He’s all the time forward of his opponents and his teammates.

“To coach with him, he adapts to you and you need to adapt to him. Once you play with him, he’ll win trophies. He all the time needs to play in all of the video games.”
