The Nationwide Universities Fee (NUC) says it’s at present processing purposes for 303 new personal universities to cater for the demand of tertiary training within the nation.
NAN stories that the Government Secretary of NUC, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed made this recognized at a two-day Nationwide Summit on Non-public Universities on Monday in Abuja.
The summit had as its theme: “Non-public College Schooling Supply in Nigeria: Challenges and Alternatives.’’
Rasheed defined that purposes have been acquired from teams of people, company organisations, foundations and faith-based organisations from all around the nation.
The manager secretary, whereas delivering a lead paper on the maiden version of the summit, stated the nation at present had 170 universities out of which 79 have been personal with 38, representing 48.11 per cent owned by faith-based organisations.
